Update Snowfall Forecast: Accumulations Light

Today other than a few showers east it will stay cloudy. Highs will be held in the upper 40s. Tonight the weather turns interesting as rain and snow showers enter the mid state. After midnight rain and snow will turn to all snow showers. Here in Nashville I think lows will be in the 33-34ยบ range but areas to the north of the city and the higher ridges in the extreme southern part of Nashville metro could make it to freezing. The Plateau should be the coolest and will accumulate the most snow. Maybe an inch or so along with areas along the KY border. Here in Nashville I am forecasting a coating to a ½" of snow on elevated surfaces. Accumulations of only a coating at the most will be common in the southern third of Middle Tennessee excluding elevations above 1000ft.

Clay's Total Accumulation Forecast

Nashville Area: C-½"
Plateau above 1000ft: Up to 1"
Plateau above 1500ft: Up to 2"
Southern Middle Tennessee below 1000ft: Coating
Northern Middle Tennessee below 1000ft: ½-1"
Western Middle Tennessee towards TN River: Coating-½"
Memphis: Up to a Coating
Knoxville: Coating-1"
Louisville: ½-1 ½"
Birmingham: Trace
