Clear Towards Nashville, Light Snow Lingering East

There has been some light snow(1-2" in spots) towards Silver Point and the Western Rim/Plateau and some schools have closed as a result. Towards Nashville everything is clear although there were a few flurries last evening. At 6AM this morning it is 15º in Nashville. Brr! Today will be pretty cold. High of only 28º. Skies should clear for all of Middle TN. Tonight will be even colder. Low 13º in Nashville with readings a couple degrees cooler in the suburbs. I think a lot of the low lying terrain will be towards 8 or 9. Tomorrow we will be in the upper 30s and continue that warming trend through the rest of the week. 60s are possible for highs by the weekend! Temperatures the next 7 to 10 days should be above normal.

Some Wet Snow This Morning.

There is some snowfall in the northern half of Middle Tennessee from Frankin and Murfreesboro north. No county schools even on the Plateau are closing due to this, just delays on the Plateau. Today what is left of this precip. will exit the region and we will remain mostly cloudy. This system is what models were screaming as a crippling snowstorm for us and the rest of the Eastern US, but obviously this wasn't the case. Anyway tonight we will fall to 27 with mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of a flurry. Tomorrow highs will only be in the 30s!

Cold Day Today

Good morning! Skies are clear in the Nashville Area right now and temperatures are in the 20s this morning. Today look for some more clouds to fill in this evening with a slight chance of a flurry. High 40. Tonight clouds will hold but temperatures will still fall into the mid 20s. A cold low of 26º. Saturday we will began to warm up. Highs just shy of 50º on Saturday and Sunday we will be in mid to upper 50s. Skies will be mostly sunny so we have a lot to look forward to. A significant cold front will push through on Monday and possibly interact with a gulf low enough to yield accumulations (more than an inch). Modeling is all over the place so we will have to wait and see what happens as we get closer to the event. Have a great day!

Watch for rain to changeover to ice and snow as colder air moves in. 1-2" of sleet and snow from along and north of Nashville. Up to 1" for our southern counties in Middle Tennessee. Nearly all the school districts are closed.

Wintry Forecast for Tuesday

Today highs will top out near 40 in the Nashville Area. Everything is going to be all rain by noon.

Tonight this will change back to snow after midnight. A burst of snow will head through and be out of here by Wednesday Afternoon. I think some accumulations will be possible across most of Middle Tennessee. Low 31º

Highs won't go very far on Wednesday only topping out in the mid 30s.
Be careful on the roads especially NW of Nashville. Have a safe day!

A Lot To Talk About

Watch out Northwest Counties... you are in for a wild ride overnight tonight. Areas along and north of I-40 and west of I-65 will stand the best chance of accumulating ice. Maybe a glaze of a tenth of an inch or so but places like Clarksville will accumulate maybe a half inch or more before temperatures warm up above freezing tomorrow afternoon. Let me get a call map up in a bit. Anyway low 31º tonight here in Nashville

Tuesday ice will change over across all of Middle Tennessee. High 40º. We're gonna change back over to snow Tuesday Night and a larger area including Nashville could see some snow accumulation. How much? More info to come later.

Winter Weather Possibilites

Good morning! Today skies should stay mostly cloudy with highs topping out in the low 40s. Low pressure system is going to develop and bring a chance of ice overnight tonight. High pressure well to our north is helping to allow cold shallow air to spill in and create ice problems with any precip. We are under a freezing rain advisory and any precip tonight that falls will be as Freezing rain. Low 31º tonight. Tomorrow the 32 surface degree line will lift north into Kentucky and change us over to rain. Highs will be pretty mild heading into the low 40s but as the system scoots to the east I think a second round of wintry wx in the form of sleet and snow is possible Tuesday night. You won't see this in any heavily publicised forecast but I can't count out accumulations of snow and sleet as a possiblility. More updates this evening. Have a great day everyone!

Few Mixed Precip Showers. No Big Deal

A few people have seen some mixed precip (mainly sleet) fall across the Northern half of the Mid-State. This shouldn't be a big deal. A major storm system will bring the possiblity of rain, ice, and maybe some snow on the back side to Nashville. I'll have more details and a forecast first thing Monday Morning. Until then, low 26 tonight with cloudy skies and a few sleet or snow showers early.

BE NEAR LIVINGSTON IN OVERTON COUNTY BY 1100 PM. AREAS WITH THE

Light Sleet or Snow is possible overnight Saturday (tonight). It shouldn't cause too much of a problem as there is little moisture to work with. Radar is displaying a lot of virga so it will look more impressive than it actually is. Low 31º. Highs on Saturday will only be in the upper 30s under partly-to-mostly cloudy skies.

A warmer south wind will help pump up temperatures into the low 60s and upper 50s for high today after a high of 29 a couple of days ago! Skies should stay mostly cloudy with a few breaks here and there. Tonight a few sprinkles or flurries can't be ruled out but chances are low. Low 30º. Tomorrow highs in the mid 30s again with mostly cloudy skies. Sunday and Monday temperatures will edge closer to normal (40s). The trend over the next 1-2 weeks looks warmer and wetter than normal right now. We may get a break from some of the cold weather!

Chilly it is. Highs will hold at about 31º today. A partly-to-mostly cloudy sky will hold temperatures low. Most of the school systems on the rim and plateau are shut down due to the little bit of snow. A few bursts of snow came through SW Middle TN. Tonight skies will clear and temps will drop. It will be about 19 and daybreak tomorrow and under mostly sunny skies highs should bump up to 39. Slight rain chances make a comeback for your Friday and so does warmer weather (50s).

Snow Showers This Morning

Look for snow showers to taper off in the Nashville area before noon. The Plateau is farther east so I will take a bit longer to clear out the snow showers. Temperatures should stay steady or drop throughout the day into the upper 20s by 5PM clouds will hang around all day today with an additional slight chance of a snow shower tonight. Clipper to Bring Light Snow Tonight

A clipper is going to swing through tonight and bring with it some snow showers. Accumulations should stay under 1" for all of Middle Tennessee. Low 30. Colder temperatures are on the way for Sunday. Highs right around freezing can be expected with a few flurries possible. Will get a forecast graphic up later.

Cold Morning

Wow, the low so far has been 6º here in Nashville with cooler readings in outlying communities. I'm at 4.6 degrees. Today highs will head into the low 20s with clear skies. Tonight look for another cold night as temperatures will fall to 9 here in Nashville. Tomorrow highs will be warmer with his near 40 with the south wind. Yay!
